Little Ninja Fish
My son spent the week with his Papa. I can't believe that he knows how to swim like he does. He can dive in the pool! He can also swim to the bottom of the pool to grab pool toys. It's amazing. He's jumping off of the diving board!! I don't think I could swim that well at 4. He such a little fish! He learned all of this over the summer, but this past week is when he actually learned to dive and swim to the bottom of the pool. He is doing great:) I'm such a proud Mom right now:)
Will thinks that he is a ninja lately.... He wears his Ninja Turtle costume from Halloween last year complete with the turtle shell, pool goggles, Binoculars strung around his neck, and he carries a flash light. He is obsessed with flash lights. It's really funny. His imagination is at work in over drive....He got a new bike and he calls it his ninja turtle bike because it's green, I guess. Papa had some influence over the ninja thinking. He tells Will " Oh, Ninja's don't act like that. If your going to be a ninja, you have to brush your teeth." " And, if you don't brush your teeth, I'm going to have to give you the Cobra Clutch." It seems to be working.... I remember when my brother went through the ninja phase. He was a bit older and I remember him making the ninja stars out of paper and black duct tape. What do you actually call these things?Anyway, these were deadly weapons! I also remember my brother dressing in Camo from head to toe and even putting a small camo shirt on our dog. He put a leash on the dog and hopped on his skate board to go trick or treating one year. I, too, wore camo and had a fake machine gun courtesy of my brother. We were such cool little kids. I saw a picture recently of me decked out in camo. It's hilarious. I think I was maybe 6 in the picture? I love to see the imagination at work in little kids. I miss being a kid myself! Looking back I know we sure had fun....Oh! Will also likes Jackie Chan movies. I wonder who watched those with him? Hmmm... I just don't know about the Jackie Chan movies. He may go to school trying to act like Jackie Chan and knock some kid out or something. He doesn't call him Jackie Chan... It's Jackie Channel. He seems to be ALL BOY according to my Dad.
I asked Will if he had a girlfriend at the YMCA and he told me that girls were stinky and they don't brush their teeth. I guess he came into contact with a smelly girl with bad breath. Who knows? He's my little man:) I am so glad that he was around my father for a week. He came home so happy! He's back at the YMCA for the rest of the Summer. Back to Karate, swimming, gymnastics, and really cool field trips:) I'll have to write these things down more often, so that I will have the memories to share with him when he is older....

Bad Bob White
When I was a little girl about seven years old I remember waking up one morning with the sunlight pouring in from the window beside my bed. The walls in my room were painted a lilac color and the curtains were a sheer white..My record player was on the night stand on the other side of my bed closer to the door. At night I would put on a record like Dumbo, Winnie the Pooh or the Candy Man to fall asleep to. That morning the rays of light brightened the room..no light switch had to be turned on, which is the perfect light to have. The window was opened a little and I could hear the sounds of morning. It must have been spring, right around the time that the Easter Bunny would have come. My mom had red tulips planted in a flower bed outside of my bedroom window around a tree, and we lived in a cozy little neighborhood. One where we could ride our bikes up and down the street without too many cars going by, and a lot of friends to play with. We really did have it great growing up in that neighborhood. I have so many wonderful stories. There was a bird outside of my window singing his song this particular morning..It was no ordinary song. It was a Bob White and it was around the time that my parents were getting a divorce too. The terrible awful "d" word that I hate so much, and swore that I would never encounter for myself. When I heard this bird it sounded like it was chirping the word di-vorce because it only makes a two syllable sound in a high pitch....Every time I hear a Bob White I think of divorce. The Bob White is not my favorite bird.

American Mockery
I watched the Warhol Documentary. I have been out of touch with my fascination and realize that this artist was really mocking American culture! Andy was such a smart ass. While being interviewed on several different occasions...A journalists would askAndy a question that required an answer with some depth behind it..Well, Andy would just answer Yes or No or turn to one of his clonies and ask what they thought instead. Or he would just agree with the interviewer..Really amusing to watch. Or he would act like he didn't understand the question. Just a big game to him. He never let anyone in on his real background. Nobody really knows his birth date, for instance. I guess he preferred to remain a mystery. It was a big joke of sorts. One of his Campbell soup can paintings will go for $20 million + considering the documentary was kinda eighties... Made some money off of a joke huh? That's what's fascinating. Repeticious soup cans? All of it is ridiculous to the point that it's soo interesting. He had charisma..Interesting character. Why did I wish to be in the entourage? Man, those people were druggies and...I'll shut up now..nevermind...I was ridiculous!! I was Just fascinated with the art scene described in the book I guess...It painted a glamorous picture. Glamour!! Parties and Fame and Glamour!! But, the entourage were puppets to Andy..Really..Through my view...On to other interests...I'm inspired to work on a painting..And no, not of soup cans or cows or marilyns. I'm doing a Mother and Child painting. Something close to my heart. I'm sparked!!
Macaroni & Cheese Etcetera
I Just thought of a random memory yesterday & thought I would write this one down. It's a silly little thing really...One could say that I am gullible! Gullible people are more fun right? Because you can seriously mess with them for your own amusement, and that's what old Matthew used to do..This popped into my head as I was making Easy Mac... I can't live without it. Anyway, My friend told me that there was a place in the mall called Macaroni & Cheese Etcetera.. Which translates into Macaroni & cheese ..and other things or so forth and so on...I looked for this place in the mall!! I was going to go there for lunch!! And there was no Mac. & Cheese etc. Damn! If there is a business out there called Macaroni & Cheese etc. God Bless you! If I ever own a business..I'm going to call it Stuff etc. Sounds good to me... etcetera. etcetera. and so forth and so on and..and..
Baby Sumo!!
So I picked up my daughter at the nursery. (She will be one next month and has half a tooth. It's just now coming in and she is drooling a river..A RIVER. AnywayI call it Lulu The Tooth:) So, as I walk in to get her.. I don't see her anywhere..It turns out that she is right in front of me strapped into a chair facing the other way. I'm looking around the room for her and then I look down and there she is. A little boy baby is on the floor beside her. He pulls up and pops her in the face. She popped him right back. But, she is the one strapped in the chair! They both got the no. no. and baby Bobby was picked up and taken away.. Anyway..I was told that my little midget- size of a little girl is a baby bully! That's right..She can hold her own. And even funnier is that the other baby's name is Bobby. Bobby the bully! She fights over toys with him, in particular, and is usually the victor. She doesn't put up with his mess I guess. They bop each other in the head..you know, it's hilarious, but you do have to correct it. Big things come in small packages! It's kinda funny to watch all of this go down. Makes me laugh.
The Pickle Mobile..Oh Yeah!!
So, I was born procrastinating really. -Off the subject, but really cute.. If I ask my son if he is ready..he says " I was born ready!" Too cute. Of course he's cute:) ..back to my procrastinating story.I think that I can blame it on my favorite book from child hood called Goose Goofs off. Before I start to tell about this here goose I need to mention the pickle mobile. Well, On tv this pickle book mobile would go to kid's houses to drop off this series of books. The pickle Mobile never came to my damn house! I got the books, but still...O.K. Back to the Goose that I take after supposedly..Things happen to this goose...like he leaves the freezer door open and the ice cream melts all over the floor..He then says to himself.." oh, I'll clean it up tomorrow." Well ,of course it becomes a mess and he slips on the floor the next day because he didn't clean it up the day before and he forgot about it. My mother says that I am like this because of THE BOOK. She also calls me Katie Scarlet..line from the movie...Oh, I'll just worry about it tomorrow." Classic. I love it! Well, frankly my dear, I don't give a damn. I work better under pressure anyway. I guess I feel like I don't have to do it at THAT minute and I deserve to relax for awhile...Americans just rush rush rush..I feel like we all just need to take the time out of our day to talk to one another..Who cares if you are late to work...People and relationships are more important...We should take notes from Mexico..and Italy..Seriously. ---went on a mini tangent...
