Invisible?

What can I say about today? Well, yesterday and today I had to wear my glasses.(eye infection) I absolutely hate wearing my glasses and hate is a strong word here. I transform in to another person when I wear them! The prescription is weak because they are like 4 years old. When I put them on I feel slightly invisible to people. It's like I think people can't see me. Weird, I know.

Reading Rainbow

This is a short one and a good read for the Fall. I recommend this if your interested in southern history and you like parables. It's told through the voice of the woman on the cover, Sue Alston. 100 + years old maybe. She tells stories of the Rutledge family in Charleston. It's not really a "ghost" story, but she does tell about the Hampton Plantation ghost too. So, if you have time to read this it's cool. I feel like one of those kids on Reading Rainbow...

Carew Rice

Carew Rice was one of the the greatest Silhouettist. Old Low Country Southern Shadow scenes. What more is there to love?

Bondage

It takes an act of congress to do things sometimes. (Sigh.) Richland County needed a surety bond from one of our contractors that we insure. The contractor came in all huffy puffy about it, and blamed it on "women." Really, it was a non-resident issue. He doesn't live in Cola. He lives here. But, it was the two women from the two counties fault. According to him...if two men were handling this, then he wouldn't have to get a surety bond or have to go through all of this trouble. "Women." He said with sarcasm. I wondered if my face actually showed the expression "you're an asshole?" It probably did, as I can never mask facial expressions. I wish I could! I think I looked down and pretended to only half listen. Anyway, being the nice person that I am, I got him a surety bond (copy ) faxed over to Richland county expediently, so that I wouldn't have to hear his mouth anymore & he could keep working over there until they receive the notarized original and yada yada. I'm not really experienced with bonds, but I had to look like I knew what I was doing, especially because of his crappy attitude for women. It wasn't hard at all. So,I learned about Surety bonds this morning. Yeah. Don't you wish your life was that exciting? I was kind of proud that I figured it out. (How to issue it & the whole "process")
I'll give the guy the benefit of the doubt.. He came back in and broke down his frustrations to me. I listened empathetically & I can understand the trickle effect that it creates when you have sub-contractors and so forth. I still can't believe that he turned it into a woman issue, & was ballsey enough to say it to a woman.

Just You and Me Kid

I'm happy. I love that fresh feeling of Fall approaching in the air outside. I get excited when the weather changes. It's almost like a page is being turned in a really great book that I'm reading. There is a tug in my heart that goes along with the stir in the air! I love the Fall the best. I Always have.

I spent the weekend with my sister playing tennis, shopping, and watching movies late at night. It was a fun and girly weekend:) I really wanted to watch some old movies like Madam X or An affair to Remember, but can you believe that we couldn't find these at Blockbuster? I was appalled! They did have a couple of old movies, but they didn't have a section of old movies. Why not? I thought that video stores did have an old movies section, but apaprently Blockbuster doesn't. I could probably just buy these kind of movies for the price that I could rent them though. Hey, that's a thought!

Will went to the airport with his Papa and went flying two times on Saturday! Dad woke him up at the crack of dawn and off they went to the airport in dad's truck. Will was wearing his Papa's hat & It was really cute. Later, Will told me that he never wanted to leave the sky & that he wanted to be up there forever. Will said to him " I love you Papa." over the headphones that he was wearing in the plane. Awww.This Pleases my Dad:) To be five years old, it's pretty amazing that he is so relaxed about flying. It's a special bond between them that is just great.

Tennis nearly killed me. I'm sore and I am quite aware of how out of shape I am. Uh oh.. Here comes the new health regime that I go through once a year. Tennis is fun though. If only I had a playing partner everyday...Then I'd play and get really good! Ginny taught me a few things. I think I have a pretty graceful serve now. Go me.

Shopping with my sister: Of course, she has to hit the stores like Aberocombie and Fitch & Hollister and etc. ...I swear I could go buy her a pair of jeans like the ones they have in those stores at the Salvation Army & save her 60 bucks.Well, save her maybe 57. I could splatter paint them and tear them & make them RAD..Do I have the old person approach on this issue??? Seriously, I could sandpaper the heck out of some S.A. jeans or maybe not even have to and Voila! Ginny happened to say "Yes Sir" to a guy clerk at one of those stores and he said that he was only 26, and that she didn't need to say "Yes Sir" to him...(Maybe because I have kids) ....But I viewed this guy as a teenager! I looked at him like he was 18...& he is only a year younger than I am. What??? I have been thinking about that one a lot. I think that it's because I have children. It was like a wake up call that I am, in fact, a very young mother. Woah.Typically Speaking, I am the "youngest" mom on the block. Is that weird? I never thought it was. Oh well, I will be the hottest mom, that's all:)
