Bondage
It takes an act of congress to do things sometimes. (Sigh.) Richland County needed a surety bond from one of our contractors that we insure. The contractor came in all huffy puffy about it, and blamed it on "women." Really, it was a non-resident issue. He doesn't live in Cola. He lives here. But, it was the two women from the two counties fault. According to him...if two men were handling this, then he wouldn't have to get a surety bond or have to go through all of this trouble. "Women." He said with sarcasm. I wondered if my face actually showed the expression "you're an asshole?" It probably did, as I can never mask facial expressions. I wish I could! I think I looked down and pretended to only half listen. Anyway, being the nice person that I am, I got him a surety bond (copy ) faxed over to Richland county expediently, so that I wouldn't have to hear his mouth anymore & he could keep working over there until they receive the notarized original and yada yada. I'm not really experienced with bonds, but I had to look like I knew what I was doing, especially because of his crappy attitude for women. It wasn't hard at all. So,I learned about Surety bonds this morning. Yeah. Don't you wish your life was that exciting? I was kind of proud that I figured it out. (How to issue it & the whole "process")
I'll give the guy the benefit of the doubt.. He came back in and broke down his frustrations to me. I listened empathetically & I can understand the trickle effect that it creates when you have sub-contractors and so forth. I still can't believe that he turned it into a woman issue, & was ballsey enough to say it to a woman.
